Diner en Blanc Takes Over Atlanta

It was a sight to behold. A horde of people dressed in white walking down sidewalks to load tables, chairs and picnic baskets onto buses located in four departure destinations. No one knew where they were going but knew it would be a night to remember forever.

The buses wove through Midtown and finally stopped at Atlantic Station allowing all passengers including six members of the Atlanta Food Bloggers' Society to disembark to carry their accouterments to the green space surrounding the Millennium Gate Museum.

A total of 328 tables were set up side-by-side to create an intimate dining space that resembled a sea of white. The table settings were glorious with flowers, balloons, candles and even crystal. At the designated time, diners waved their napkins in the air, which signified the beginning of dinner. A variety of artists played as meals were eaten and wine was sipped.

As folks were finishing their dinners, sparklers were handed around and lit creating a scene of pure magic! Once the sparklers burned down the music turned up and the entire group of nearly 700 guests took to the dance floor. The DJ played a dazzling array of music from every decade; something for everyone! You know it is a great party when the cops come to shut it down. And with that guest packed up all their trappings and headed back to the buses exhausted, happy and vowing to return next year.
